Instrument Components:
- Three Drawers (A, B and C), from top to bottom
- Each drawer holds up to 320 Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT) 7 ml tubes.
- Each drawer contains:
- Tube rack – wells in the rack, into which tubes are inserted, called stations
- Detector assembly – moves from left to right and back, taking test readings for each of the 20 station columns and calibrator tube column
- Drawer status indicators – three lamps located on the front of each drawer
- One indicator lights any time a positive tube exists in the drawer
- One indicator lights any time an out of protocol negative exists in the drawer
- One indicator lights to inform if there is an error station in the drawer
- Station status Light Emitting Diode (LEDs) – indicator LEDs located at each station indicate the various station statuses (positive, negative, error)
- Colour (red, green, or orange)
- State (on, off, or flashing)
- Barcode Scanner
- Located on the front of the instrument to scan tube labels/ barcodes for specimen identification
- Floppy Disk/ USB Drive
- Update instrument software, save data for troubleshooting and system diagnostic purposes
- Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
- 640 X 480 pixel LCD presents information about the instrument status and function key to perform instrument operations
- Keypad
- Perform operations to enter and remove tubes, adjusting setup parameters
- External Ports (5), at rear
- To connect printer, field service diagnostic use, for connections to other systems
