This is the first step taken after the need for a test is identified. This could be when presumptive TB\/DRTB is identified, or at the point of follow-up (end of IP\/CP, post-treatment follow-up).<\/li>\n\t
The request may be initiated by the medical officer (MO) or the health staff at the Peripheral Health Institute (PHI) citing the reason for test and the type of test required. The request is directed towards a laboratory where the required test is available.<\/li>\n\t
The request for test can be performed in Ni-kshay for any case that is already enrolled with an existing Patient ID. Following the request for a test, the next step is to either physically refer the patient to the corresponding laboratory or collect the appropriate biological sample and initiate its transportation to the lab.<\/li>\n\t
If a biological sample is collected, the details of the sample<\/strong> <\/span>need to be added to the test request in Nikshay.
