“Stakeholder mapping for partnerships” is a process of identifying and analyzing stakeholders who are involved in a partnership. The purpose of this process is to identify the stakeholders’ interests, needs, and expectations and to develop strategies that will help to manage these stakeholders effectively. Stakeholder mapping can be used to identify potential partners for an institution.

Some benefits of stakeholder mapping include understanding the relevance of each stakeholder group, understanding the aims of each stakeholder group, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are included in decision-making processes, and identifying potential conflicts between stakeholders. Stakeholder mapping may be visually represented in a stakeholder analysis, organizing those people according to the key criteria with which you will be managing them during the project. Some of those criteria may include interest, influence, financial stake, emotional stake, those on the periphery who are still important enough to keep in the loop, etc.
