Will be responsible for the smooth functioning of laboratory services, the quality of sputum microscopy, NAAT, and sample collection and transportation as per programme guidelines.<\/li>\n\t
Organize regular training and continuing education for the laboratory technicians. Supervise all microscopy centres and NAAT facilities at least once a month.<\/li>\n\t
To support the establishment of specimen collection centres and establish a sample transport network<\/li>\n\t
Promote microbiological testing for the diagnosis of TB.<\/li>\n\t
Referral of a smear positive for UDST monitoring of the TAT test and transport to the next level of the diagnostic network.<\/li>\n\t

Since EQA for NAAT is introduced as an annual activity, STLS need to ensure participation and timely completion of EQA for NAAT by the NAAT facility.<\/li>\n\t

Coordinate with private laboratories for free diagnostic services to TB patients in private sector and ensure quality assurance in private laboratories. Coordinate with STS to ensure that all TB patients diagnosed are initiated on treatment and followed as per programme guidelines.<\/li>\n\t
Co-ordinate with STS and senior DR-TB TB-HIV supervisor in updation of relevant NTEP records of DR-TB patients.<\/li>\n\t
Ensure that sputum specimens of eligible patients are sent to NAAT, Culture, and DST Laboratories as per NTEP guidelines.<\/li>\n\t
Ensure real-time NIKSHAY enrollment for presumptive TB, presumptive DR-TB, and other diagnostic and follow-up test details. Advocate for the enrollment of all patient samples subjected to diagnosis in Ni-kshay and update valid results for every test conducted.<\/li>\n\t
