Purpose:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n

NTEP protocols, require patients to be placed on the most effective regimen as soon as possible. As a result, whenever new drug resistance information is obtained for a person with TB, they may be assigned the treatment outcome of \"Regimen Changed\", and reinitiated on a new treatment episode. <\/p>\n\n

Each episode was counted as a new notification; leading to a case being diagnosed as TB multiple times. This doesnot align with global definitions of a TB Case. Thus, whenever the treatment regimen is changed an a new episode is created, it should not be counted as a new notification.<\/p>\n\n
