The National Strategic Plan (NSP) for 2017 to 2025 was put into effect by the Government of India (GoI) in order to bring interventions to broaden and enhance TB patient diagnostic, care, and treatment options. The vision is to make India TB-Free by 2025 by mounting an accelerated and comprehensive multisectoral response.

It aims to bring patients receiving care in the private sector under the same umbrella of high-quality TB care and control. The NSP emphasises the significance of private sector involvement as a crucial element in the elimination of TB.

For India to achieve its goal of Universal Health Coverage, collaboration and engagement with the private sector are essential. The aim of NTEP's private sector engagement strategy is to guarantee that TB patients in the private sector receive the best possible assistance and care from the medical professionals of their choosing.
