ટીબી એ હવાથી ફેલાતો ચેપ હોવાથી, જ્યારે ચેપી ટીબીથી પીડિત વ્યક્તિ ઉધરસ કે છીંક ખાય છે ત્યારે ટીબીના બેક્ટેરિયા હવામાં છોડવામાં આવે છે. સરળ સાવચેતી રાખીને ચેપનું જોખમ ઘટાડી શકાય છે:
