Purpose of DNA extraction
- Extract DNA from cellular components
For Line Probe Assay (LPA), DNA is extracted from:
- Clinical specimen
- Culture isolates on Loewenstein-Jensen (LJ) solid medium
- Bacteria growth in liquid media (Mycobacteria Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT), BD Diagnostics)
