Under the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), each Cartridge-based Nucleic Acid Test (CBNAAT) site needs to keep a maintenance record for the instrument.

 

Cleaning and disinfecting the system components is crucial for proper CBNAAT maintenance. The tasks and frequency are shown in the table below.

For routine surface cleaning 70% ethanol is used; while a final concentration of 1:10 dilution of Sodium hypochlorite is used for disinfection of different parts of the CBNAAT instrument followed by removing bleach residue with 70% ethanol.

 

The logs for the maintenance of records for CBNAAT is shown in Figure 1.

The maintenance log sheet is also provided by the vendor as shown in Figure 2. The monthly log for maintenance records can be obtained from the CBNAAT System Operator Manual CDROM that can be copied and used.
