There is a provision in NTEP to extend the Public Health Actions to all the patients seeking care from Private practioners\/Hospitals<\/p>\n\n

1. Comorbidity testing and Management<\/strong>
\n <\/p>\n\n

\n\t
Facilitate the testing for Diabetes, HIV, Pregnancy, Malnourishment and other comorbid conditions and special situations<\/li>\n\t
The people with TB diagnosed to have any such conditions may be referred to suitable facility for management of such comorbidity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

2. Home visit and TB prevention:<\/strong>
\n <\/p>\n\n
\n\t
NTEP staff (STS, TBHV, Sr DR-TB\/TB-HIV Supervisor) visits the household of all the notified patients and carry out various activities like Patient education, counselling of family members, AIC activities, distribution of AIC kits, <\/li>\n\t
If required, the staff may also do a follow-up visit at patient's house and may also help in specimen collection and transportation.
\n\t <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
3. Contact tracing and investigations<\/strong>
\n <\/p>\n\n
\n\t
NTEP through its staff will ensure the contact tracing of all the notified TB patients.<\/li>\n\t
All the household contacts of the notified TB patient are screened for active TB and may be tested, if required. The people diagnosed to have TB are initiated on appropriate TB Treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

4. Direct Benefit Transfer<\/strong>

NTEP also supports the notified TB patients for nutrition through Nikshay Poshan Yojana in the form of DBT throughout the course of their treatment.<\/li>\n\t
The STS of the concerned TB Unit facilitates the DBT for such patients.

5. Counselling<\/strong>

The counselling services are provided to the persons affected by TB and their family members. <\/li>\n\t
For people affected by DR-TB, the specialised counselling services are available at the District DR-TB centre through
