Learning Objectives

Strengthening AEFI surveillance​ for aBCG vaccination Study

Participants will learn to:

  1. Understand the Importance of AEFI Surveillance: Recognize the critical role of AEFI surveillance in ensuring the safety and efficacy of adult BCG vaccination programs.
  2. Orient Committee Members: Ensure that State and District AEFI committee members are fully oriented on their roles and responsibilities in the adult BCG vaccination campaign.
  3. Build Capacity and Provide Training: Develop skills and knowledge for vaccinators and medical officers through capacity building and training on AEFI management and reporting.
  4. Expand the Surveillance Network: Widen the surveillance network to include a broader range of medical institutions such as medical colleges and tertiary care hospitals.
  5. Sensitize Medical Specialists: Sensitize various medical specialists, including pulmonologists, orthopaedicians, dermatologists, and gynaecologists, about AEFI surveillance specific to BCG vaccines.
