Storage of BCG Vaccine in ILR

All Cold Chain Handlers at SVS, RVS, DVS, and CCP should ensure a dedicated ILR for Adult BCG Vaccination wherever possible.

In WICs, identify and label dedicated racks for the "Adult BCG vaccination campaign." 

If a dedicated ILR is unavailable at CCPs, store the vaccine and diluent in a marked, separate box with label as “Adult BCG vaccination campaign”.

Store diluent ampoules at ambient temperature but place them in an ILR at least 24 hours before use to match the BCG vaccine temperature and avoid thermal shocks.

Use dedicated dry space for storing diluents, 0.1 ml AD syringes, and reconstitution syringes.
