  • Adult BCG Vaccine- Process of Bio Medical Waste Management

    Learning Objectives

    Participants will learn to:

    1. Understand the principles and importance of biomedical waste management in the context of Adult BCG vaccination.
    2. Identify and categorize different types of waste generated during the Adult BCG vaccination process, including used vials, syringes, and other consumables.
    3. Follow proper protocols for the safe disposal of partially used and empty BCG vials, including returning them to the cold chain point and storing them in a separate, clearly marked container.
    4. Implement procedures for treating biomedical waste, such as BCG vials, according to established biomedical waste management protocols after 48 hours.
    5. Use appropriate labeling and segregation techniques to ensure that biomedical waste is handled and disposed of safely and efficiently.
