Adult BCG Vaccine- Process of Bio Medical Waste Management
Learning ObjectivesParticipants will learn to:
- Understand the principles and importance of biomedical waste management in the context of Adult BCG vaccination.
- Identify and categorize different types of waste generated during the Adult BCG vaccination process, including used vials, syringes, and other consumables.
- Follow proper protocols for the safe disposal of partially used and empty BCG vials, including returning them to the cold chain point and storing them in a separate, clearly marked container.
- Implement procedures for treating biomedical waste, such as BCG vials, according to established biomedical waste management protocols after 48 hours.
- Use appropriate labeling and segregation techniques to ensure that biomedical waste is handled and disposed of safely and efficiently.
