Universal Health Coverage envisaged through HWCs\/Sub-centers would be leveraged for organizing effective implementation of this activity and these would be the focal point for TPT service delivery to the target population in their respective catchment areas.<\/li>\n\t
Community health officers (CHO) in HWCs would be the key responsible officers for organizing contact tracing\/investigation and provision of TPT. <\/li>\n\t
All staff at HWCs\/subcenters will be primarily responsible for TPT service delivery along the entire TPT care cascade, that includes the following activities: <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
- mapping out facilities managing HRGs and the households\/workplaces of all index TB\/DR-TB patients where target population can be traced; enumerating and mapping out target population; <\/li>\n\t
- contact tracing and investigation of target population at the level of households\/workplaces\/ICTC-ART centres \/ facilities caring for all HRGs\/mapped vulnerable groups; <\/li>\n\t
- screening target population to rule out active-TB and ascertain eligibility for TPT; <\/li>\n\t

  - monitoring TPT adherence and observing for side effects. In case of any adverse reactions identified by the health care workers (including community volunteers) and referred to the doctor, and declaring TPT outcomes and long-term follow-up.<\/li>\n\t
  - Training for HF staff would be organized and facilitated by state\/district\/block health authorities. <\/li>\n\t
  - In sub-centres that are not HWC, a multi-purpose worker (MPW)\/2nd auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM)\/ASHA would be given responsibility and trained. <\/li>\n\t
  - A TPT treatment supporter should be identified and trained by the CHO\/HF doctor and team at a point closest to beneficiary homes and where the index TB patient is receiving treatment. <\/li>\n\t
  - Regular home visits or tele\/video contact should be undertaken by the health-care workers with the TPT beneficiaries to ensure adherence, adverse event identification\/management, repeated counselling as necessary, and follow-up for all TPT beneficiaries. <\/li>\n\t
  - The responsibility to rule out active TB disease and evaluation of the individual for TPT eligibility lies on the doctor at the concerned HF (including CHO and PP) as per guidelines. <\/li>\n\t

    - The CHO\/HF doctor is also responsible for leading the overall micro-planning and organization of TPT services in all HCWs\/SCs of the HF catchment area to ascertain specific roles and responsibilities of health providers, including community volunteers, in coordination with HF staff. This is especially in target populations in the community where there is need to provide adherence support, manage therapy interruptions and identify, document and manage adverse drug events. <\/li>\n\t
