Under the National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2020-25, systematic screening of high-risk groups through outreach and community-based approaches using digital X-rays and rapid and more sensitive diagnostic tools is planned via:

  1. Active Case Finding (ACF) activity in vulnerable groups: This is a focus over the next five years.
    • ACF to be conducted in campaign mode in three rounds during the year.
    • Large scale Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) through print and electronic mass media and local channels about the campaign.
    • The prioritization of vulnerable groups for screening and ACF is shown in the table below.
  2. Intensified Case Finding (ICF): A systematic ICF among key populations attending any of the specialised clinics like Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres (ICTC), ante-natal clinic, diabetic care clinic, de-addiction centres, etc., will enhance the early case finding and linkage to care.
  3. Sensitization of the political and administrative leadership in the states.
  4. Identification and mapping of high risk/ vulnerable populations in local areas.
