The main objective of this strategy is to reduce the exposure to diseases like TB inside the workplace by:<\/p>\n\n

Reduce the delay in diagnosis<\/span><\/strong> so that a person with active TB disease or any airborne infections will not spread the disease inside the workplace. <\/li>\n\t

Workers are encouraged to self screen for cough before entering the workplace <\/li>\n\t
Signage for cough etiquette are present and adequately displayed across the workplace.<\/li>\n\t
Workers with cough are provided with masks and educated on its correct use & disposal<\/li>\n\t
Workers affected with TB are reassigned to a more convenient workspace on request.(Workers with respiratory illness will not be seated face to face)<\/li>\n\t
Airborne Infection control assessment is conducted at least annually<\/li>\n\t
Facility design and workers seating has been assessed for the best use of space and ventilation

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hand washing facility with running water and soap accessible to all workers.           <\/li>\n\t
Workplace areas have good cross-ventilation in all areas and total areas of windows and doors >20% of floor area in each floor.           <\/li>\n\t
Wherever cross-ventilation is not possible, mechanical ventilation (for e.g. exhaust fans) is properly used to ensure minimum six air change per hour .Signages in place to keep doors and windows open when feasible.           <\/li>\n\t
Regular cleaning and maintenance of directional and extractor fans is conducted.           <\/li>\n\t
Servicing documentation of Air conditioners is maintained and is available for review.
