The accounting treatment for the transection to book in relevant books and records is imitated by accounting staff after the completion of payment process. 

  • The cash book is basic document for book keeping. Now a days various accounting software are available, so one can keep the recording manually as well as computerized. The accountant should book the expenses in appropriate budget line as per payment order. 
  • The statutory deductions should book as liability and should pay the same in timely manner as per statutory time limit. i.e if the payment is for salary related. The statutory deduction may be professional tax, income tax, EPF, ESIC etc., if the payment is related to the procurement the deductions may be IT TDS, GST TDs (CGST, SGST, IGST) etc., 
  • As per accounting procedure all the entries should pass in General book. After stipulated time the general entries should posted to ledger. The ledger is subsidiary record, in which the details of debit and credit amount should be posted and after stipulated time, the ledger should summarize and closing balance of the ledger should be raised. 
  • The closing balances of all the ledgers should be summarize is called the trial balance. On the basis of trial balance, the final accounts (the income and exps. account, receipt and payment account and balance sheet) may be prepared. 
  • In computerized accounting process all the process done by software. In most of the States NHM, Tally software has been authorised to keep the books of accounts.
