Expiry management of supplies is crucial to avoid financial losses and harm to patients.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n

If any drug expires due to reasons beyond control, the write-off of expired drugs should be as per the guidelines given in NTEP National Strategic Plan. As per NSP, the State is allowed to write off up to 2%<\/span><\/strong> of the cost of the annual supply of drugs on implementation of Drug Sensitivity Testing (DST) guided treatment and 2% cost of rapid molecular test cartridges<\/strong><\/span>. The expired stock should be disposed-off as per the Bio-medical Waste (Management and Handling) guidelines of Govt. of India.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

To dispose of or remove the expired\/rejected drugs from the online inventory, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n

Go to the \u2018Write-Off\/Disposal\u2019<\/strong> process in Stock Management,<\/li>\n\t
Click on the \u2018Request\u2019<\/strong> button to generate the disposal request,<\/li>\n\t
Select the \u2018Expired or Rejected\u2019<\/strong> category, and the system will show the respective drugs<\/li>\n\t
Select the drug with an expired batch and enter the quantity<\/li>\n\t

Verify the drug details and select the type of write-off as \u2018Burned\/Buried\u2019<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\t
Enter the \u2018Remarks\u2019<\/strong>, and click on the \u2018Save\u2019<\/strong> button,<\/li>\n\t
