Certain drugs can be used safely while others need to be avoided along with Bedaquiline (Bdq). 

 

The table below provides the list of drugs that should be avoided when Bdq is part of the regimen as well as the drugs that are safe to use with Bdq.

Antibiotics Penicillins, Cephalosporins, Tinidazole Ciprofloxacin, Norfloxacin, Cotrimoxazole, Metronidazole
Antifungals Terbinafine Fluconazole, Ketoconazole, Itraconazole
Antiepileptics Sodium Valproate Phenytoin, Carbamazepine, Phenobarbital
Antidiabetics Mostly safe -
Antihypertensives Safe (except Diuretics) Diuretics
Lipid-lowering Agents - Statins are best to be avoided
Antiarrhythmics Diltiazem, Lignocaine Amiodarone, Procainamide, Digoxin
Other Cardiac Drugs Nitroglycerine, Sorbitrate Sotalol
Antiretrovirals Tenofovir, Zidovudine, Nevirapine, Dolutegravir Efavirenz, Lopinavir, Ritonavir
Anxiolytics Benzodiazepines (Alprazolam) Avoid other sedatives
Antipsychotics Risperidone, Lurasidone Haloperidol, Clozapine, Quetiapine, Olanzapine
Antidepressants Best to be avoided, only give if essential with ECG monitoring Citalopram, Fluoxetine, Sertraline
