Discuss the role of peripheral health care workers in NTEP such as referral for diagnosis to a DMC.

Screening of 4 S , presumptive TB referral , Initiate treatment, refer for testing and Monitor- performance of DMC,

Discuss the concept that of TB care needs to extend before and after the current episode of TB, and that it exists in a continuum. Including TB infection, post treatment follow-up and recurrence of TB years after treatment completion. 

Discuss the importance of locating the person in this continuum by asking previous history and also extending services of post treatment follow-up.

The learner will be able to 
- Classify TB based on diagnosis and 
- Distinguish between Microbiologically confirmed and clinical TB

Classify the TB disease on the basis of Drug Resistance

The learner will be able to 
- Classify persons with TB based on history of previous TB treatment and
- Explain the operational definition of each type of TB based on previous TB treatment

- Classify TB based on site of disease and
- Distinguish between Pulmonary and Extra pulmonary TB
